“For some reason I cannot fathom or indulge, you seem to like me.”
The way Matt Smith is embodying Daemon has such a softness in him. He seems so humane.. Yes he is notorious.. rough.. & rutheless but he can also be soft.. around the people he cares for. And then He makes that puppy sad face and I melt like butter.. Both him and Milly have such a sad face that my heart aches whenever they are sad. Their eyes are so damn Soulful.

— Chris McCaleb, Better Call Saul Insider Podcast “405”
It is redemption. He’ll never again be hiding from himself, like he did through the whole series. He’s realized it’s not worth it, you know? And the most important thing is, he’s going to get to leave having told the one person he cares about how much he loves them, and he’s shown it.
— Bob Odenkirk, Entertainment Weekly
The series Better Call Saul starts with Chuck trying to take away Jimmy’s name. The series ends with Jimmy reclaiming his name. 🥺
